Greetings, and welcome to our bulletin full of information on exciting Russian events. 

On January 26th, the School at the Russian centre in Scotland invites all those who interested in sitting Russian exams: Russian for life and work, GCSE Russian and GCE A level.   Regardless of when you would like to pass the exams, you can assess your strengths and outline further preparation plans.   Students can take tests in reading, listening, writing texts and speaking.   Testing will take place at the Adelphi centre, 12 commercial Road, G5 0PQ at 11-00.

We are delighted to invite you to a Christmas performance: "The Nutcracker and the Sweet Kingdom." A famously beautiful story with lively characters and music you’ve known since childhood is the perfect way to get yourself in the festive mood in the run-up to Christmas and New Year.

Our new venture “Science Club” starts on 17th October, a gathering for middle and high school students taking place every Wednesday. Physics and mathematics made interesting and simple!  Combining theory with practice, these experiments and activities cover all aspects of physics, and will no doubt appeal to teenagers with a keen interest in science.   There’s sure to be plenty of interesting topics, including the history of scientific discoveries, “mathematical magic” and the development of scientific thinking.   Classes will take place on Wednesdays, 17:00 - 19:00 at RCS Haven, 11 Duke Street, G4 0UL.

"The Literary Salon" opens its doors for parents of the Russian school on 30'th September. While children are storming Russian classics, parents have the opportunity to refresh their literary knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere of social conversation. Let's start with the immortal "Revizor"!   Reading the funniest moments on the roles, disputes about the relevance of the main characters, and in the end - participation in the debate with the children - what could be more interesting on rainy autumn Saturdays?!      

Russian language in Scottish schools again!   The Russian Centre HAVEN will now continue its ‘project to teach Russian in an additional curriculum.   This year, about 20 students from the Rosshall Academy (Glasgow), began to learn the basics of the Russian language and are preparing for exams "Russian Language for Life and Work” (SCQF level 3).   Students still have a long way to go with learning the Russian Alphabet to understand and speak Russian.
